From August 7–26, 2024, 34 young people from Russia and Germany embarked on a 900 km bike journey from Dresden to Hamburg. Their mission: to explore 35 years since the fall of the Iron Curtain – not just the history, but the people, their dreams, fears, and reflections.
Through conversations, museum visits, and shared experiences, participants connected deeply with others’ stories and with each other. Every encounter brought them closer to understanding freedom, history, and what unites us all.
Looking forward, these connections between young people from different countries are key to building a future of understanding, dialogue, and hope – continuing the dream of a world without barriers.
The results of the journey – stories, photos, and reflections – can be explored on the website via the link below.
