A Million Dreams

… in a world we design

We invite you to dream with us, to share your visions and nightmares and to start shaping reality. Our project, A Million Dreams, brings young people from Germany, Georgia, and Russia together and creates a space for exchange and dialogue to offset wars and widening gaps. We believe in the power of personal encounters, and in the strength of our dreams to design a better future. A Million Dreams is a call for peace and solidarity!

As we discover Georgia and each other, we will gather messages and artefacts, pieces of our experience, tokens of our feelings, and representations of our dreams in a personal receptacle as a physical record of the changes we undergo. We will open the receptacle at the end of the project to rearrange these fragments of thoughts and realities into visions of the worlds we dream of. A street performance will project our dreams into the wider world and make them interact with the dreams, feelings and realities of the people around us.

Take up the challenge and explore your dreams while hiking in the mountains of Georgia. Discover and exchange stories of better worlds being conceived. From the 2nd to the 16th of August, we invite you to join a group of young people on a journey through the wondrous cultural and natural landscapes of the regions of Svaneti and Adjara in Georgia.

Are you curious?
So are we – about YOU!

Dates
Saturday the 2nd to Saturday the 16th of August 2025

What to expect
The group from Germany will fly together from Hamburg to Kutaisi and meet the Russian participants. From Kutaisi, a bus will take everyone directly to the Georgian participants in Mestia. With the group finally together, it will be time to start the programme, meet the people of Svaneti, cook, dream, and have fun.

Together, we will explore the town of Mestia, go on a four-day hike through the mountains to the World Heritage site of Ushguli, and discover the Georgian Black Sea region. We will be staying in guesthouses. Along the way, we will speak to people who designed their own worlds and improved the places and communities they live in. Dreaming is the act of rearranging the elements of lived experience. We will share our dreams with one another, pick apart the reality we live in and reassemble its pieces to imagine a better world.

In between exploring, discussing politics (what else), and thinking creatively, we won’t forget to enjoy our time together. We will climb a historic tower, relax by the campfire on summer evenings, discover a very different culture in the Adjara region, experience Batumi, Georgia’s vibrant gateway, swim in the Black Sea, close out the project, and celebrate the end of a great adventure in Batumi’s summer sunshine.

You can participate if you…
… live in Germany or are a Russian citizen (but have recently left your country).
… are between 16 and 24 years old and keen to meet new people.

4 Gedanken zu „A Million Dreams“

  1. Hey!
My name is Ekaterina Thor, I am a german citizen with a russian family and would love to join the project!

There are many many reasons but mainly that since the full invasion started I am in the search for bridges, to bridge people that seem so far away right now and this project seems like it is doing exactly that!

The only thing is that I am 25 years old and would like to ask if it would still be possible for me to join! When I was a bit younger I have very often participated in projects similar to this and would love to get the chance to be part of yours as well!
